A Note from Isabel

“Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end”. This quote is what my advisor repeated to me as I explained that I wanted to change my major to Communications, Public Relations at Kean University and it rings true even today. This season has been my “milestone season”, a time where I am celebrating hard and have loved getting to spend it with you. It is exciting, new, and emotional because a chapter in my life has officially closed. It is all those same feelings and more knowing that the next one is currently underway. I hope you know that I am absolutely honored you are here today. Your presence means the world. Thank you for spending time celebrating with me and for the impact that you have had on my journey. Please come find me today so I can thank you infinitely in person. I am who I am, partly because of you. All the love!

The Symbolism of Your Bracelet

You may be able to tell by now, but Isabel is an entreprenuer, and she has always been like that. She’s always been the one working on an idea, and it all started when she was a little girl. When Isabel was in elementary school she wanted an iPad and her parents agreed that if she paid for half of it they would make it happen. Isabel took inventory of her skills, how much she loved to create, and began making beaded bracelets to sell for $1 by the pool and to family and friends.

Isabel has used that same determination for all her goals: moving on to run an online bakery to fund a volunteer service trip to Oahu, Hawai’i, planning events, creating a Christian brand, and now launching her own Marketing Communications firm, IZZYARIANNA Media. Please wear your bracelet with pride to honor the path of our beloved graduate.

Don’t Say “IZZY” !

Starting from the moment you read this, it’s game on.

Here’s how to play:

  • There is a bracelet in your gift bag...put it on :)
  • The goal is to not say “IZZY” during the party.
    • If you If you hear someone say "Izzy," call them out and take their bracelet.
    • If they challenge your claim, play a quick game of rock-paper-scissors to settle the dispute.
  • The person with the most bracelets by 5:00 pm wins!

May the odds be ever in your favor ;)

Celebrating the Future,

Honoring the Past

Jerseyland Community Center in Scotch Plains, established in 1932, became a cornerstone for the local Black community during a time of segregation and limited resources. It has played a crucial role in offering a safe space for educational programs, cultural celebrations, and social gatherings, thereby fostering community cohesion, empowerment, and the preservation of African American heritage in the neighborhood.
